MOTIVE discussion forum established: bringing research, practice and policy together 31.03.2010 |
by: Ulla Vänttinen
A new discussion forum on Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation in European Forestry has been established by the MOTIVE project. It connects professionals working in forest research, forestry and the forest-based sector as well as in policy and decision making and in non-governmental organizations in order to facilitate discussions on the impacts of climate change and options for adaptation in European forestry.
The new forum will serve as the place to ask questions, share recent information and discuss relevant policy matters. Currently short abstracts on new publications and research papers are presented in the news section at the MOTIVE website. This work will continue but in addition to this, reviews on new publications with more subjective value statements can be shared via the discussion forum.
A great place for interaction between different stakeholders has now been launched but it is up to its users how beneficial or useful it can be. The forum can be accessed at MOTIVE website: http://motive-project.net/page.php?P=49 .It has also a job board at which job offers related to the group topic can be posted. This can be helpful, in particular for the student members of the group.
