The MOTIVE project took part in the Act Now! Forests for Future - ENO conference in Joensuu, Finland on 15-16 September 2011. The conference, run by the global virtual network Environment Online (ENO), brought together teachers and students from 60 countries around the world.
Around 5,000 visitors participated in the event at the Joensuu Arena, showcasing the World of Forests with hands-on workshops, panel discussions and cultural programme. At the event MOTIVE run hands-on interactive workshops in which climate change impacts to forests and to forest management were examined. The hands-on activities included a ball play on climate change threats and uncertainties, and a crossword puzzle on adaptation to climate change. In addition, MOTIVE provided factsheets to participants on European bioclimatic zones and how forestry in different zones can adapt to climate change.
